Choosing the Right Bathroom Mirror
One of the most important elements of bathroom décor is a mirror. A bathroom is incomplete without a mirror. However, contrary to popular perception, there is more to a bathroom mirror than what meets the eye. Most people go for look and design of bathroom mirrors without taking other things into account. Given the huge variety of bathroom mirrors available today, there are certain aspects to be kept in mind before going mirror shopping for your bathroom.
The spaceMeasure the length and width of the bathroom wall you intend to hang your mirror on. Different designs of bathroom mirror have different dimensions. Thus, it is always wise to choose from designs that match the dimensions of your wall.
Where you intend to hang it
Most people hang their bathroom mirror over the wash basin. If you are doing the same, then a mirror with an IP rating of 44 would do. IP rating or Ingress Protection rating is the resistance of the mirror to moisture. However, some people intend to hang their bathroom mirror inside a shower enclosure. For such purposes, a mirror with an IP rating of 66 or above is required, since the shower area has a lot more moisture than the washbasin area.
The lighting
In the olden days, there was not much you could do about a badly lit bathroom. You had to make do with ordinary bathroom mirrors which gave you a shadowy reflection. However, thanks to advancement in home décor, you can now choose a bathroom mirror keeping in mind the lighting in your bathroom. If your bathroom is well lit, a normal bathroom mirror would do. However, if your bathroom has dark areas, then you might want to go for a LED mirror. LED bathroom mirrors light you from the front, thus ensuring that you get shadow free reflections.
